| Aloys Blumauer S.J. (Society of Jesus/ Jesuit order for Catholic priests) |
| The following is a email from Austria. Following the letter we investigated the name. We found that Aloys Blumauer was a special man of letters living during the time of the American and French revolutions. He was a poet. He wrote the words for the timely song composed for the Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Jan 27, 1756 - Dec 5, 1791) called "Song of Liberty""Lied der Freiheit",. Knowing that our American forefathers listened to Mozart's music we suspect that their fervent desire for liberty was reinforced by the words Blumauer set to Mozart's music! The Americans had started something that would be unstopable. Mozart's wife Constanze said Blumauer was Mozart's favorite poet......... "Dear Mr. Moser,Thank you very much for your inquiry. This painting is from A. Blumauer. I can't really tell you if he is a known painter in Austria. I just saw the name on the painting and it was painted in Carinthia in Seebachtal Weiher am Ankogel bei Mallnitz. I attached you a picture of real scenery of Seebachtal valley! We hope to have been of help, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further information. Wishing you a nice day!Best regards, Melanie Zipin Austrian National Tourist Office Österreich Werbung Margaretenstrasse 1, 1040 Vienna" The following information was found on the internet..............................
